Eyebrow Microblading along 30A & South Walton, FL

Microblading is a technique similar to tattooing that is used to semi-permanently fill in the eyebrows. It is a great option for individuals with thin, sparse or patchy brows, as it can cover up areas of missing hair and create thicker, well-defined brows.

During a microblading session, pigment is manually inserted into the upper layers of skin in the brow area. Unlike tattooing, the depth of the cuts is similar to that of a papercut; it does not reach the deeper layers of the skin. Each hair is drawn on individually to achieve the desired eyebrow shape and fullness.

How Does Microblading Work?

The first step of the microblading treatment process is to determine the desired eyebrow shape and style, based on the patient’s facial shape, facial features, symmetry and other factors. The patient can bring in photographs of the brow style they like or the makeup they normally use to achieve their desired brow shape/color. Measurements of the brow area are taken to plan out the most precise results. The color of the semi-permanent micro-pigments is also selected to complement the patient’s hair color, eye color and skin tone.

Before starting treatment, the brow area may be threaded or tweezed to clean it up, get rid of stray hairs and prepare for treatment. Then, a topical ointment is applied to the brows to numb the area.

Once the brows have been numbed, the technician makes small, featherweight strokes to implant the pigment into the upper layers of skin. They work slowly and precisely. The process takes approximately two hours.

After the first appointment, the eyebrows will look darker than normal, but this is no reason to panic. It will take about 30 days for the eyebrow color and shape to stabilize.

A touch-up treatment may be needed several weeks after the initial appointment to refine the results and fill in any gaps where the pigment hasn’t healed or settled properly. The technician can add a darker pigment or additional strokes if desired.

How Much Does Microblading Cost?

The cost of microblading ranges by patient and technician. For more pricing information, please contact Coastal Plastic Surgery Institute.

How Long Does Microblading Last?

The results of microblading normally last about 12 to 18 months. After that, the pigment naturally fades away and the eyebrows return to their original shape and thickness (with no scarring or discoloration). People with oily skin may see their results fade sooner than those with normal skin.
